Some sessions stop you in your tracks.
This was one of them.
A mother. Her dream baby girl. A quiet, unhurried morning at Casa Mallorca in Miami. And a tub that became the setting for some of the most intimate, tender images I have ever had the privilege of capturing.

The Session

There is something about a mother and her baby in the water together. The closeness. The way a baby looks up at the person who is their whole world. The way a mother looks back. I have to admit this was a bucket list type of sessions for me. I absolutely love the way these turned out and I’m already dreaming of more elevated motherhood sessions.

This session was built around that mother & child bond with no distractions, no rushing, just the two of them in one of the most tender settings I can imagine. The tub at Casa Mallorca created a natural frame for images that feel timeless and editorial all at once.

From the soft light to the quiet moments between splashes, every frame told the same story: this love is real, and it deserves to be a memory you can cherish forever.

Why Mommy and Me Sessions Matter

The early months of motherhood are consumed by caring for someone else. Not only are you exhausted and learning to balance your new life with your tiny baby, the season just flies by in the blink of an eye. Mothers are always behind the camera, not in front of it. These sessions exist to change that.

A mommy and me session is not just about beautiful photos, though they will absolutely be beautiful. It is about documenting you in this season. The version of you that your child will one day look back on and know, without question, was completely devoted to them. It’s also about capturing your sweet baby in this phase, as they are right now. The baby rolls, the nose scrunch, the tiny hands. All of it!

These are the images that get framed. The ones passed down. The ones your daughter will show her own children someday. Tangible pieces of your motherhood that will take you back in an instant. Your motherhood deserves to be remembered.

Inside Casa Mallorca

There is a hidden gate. A stone path. And the feeling, the moment you step through, that you have left Miami entirely behind even though you are right in the middle of it.

That is Casa Mallorca.

The space was born from something personal. Its founders, Sergio from San Sebastián and his Colombian wife, were married in Mallorca seven years ago. The island stayed with them. The slower pace, the warmth, the way Mediterranean light falls through stone archways. When they dreamed of building a creative space in Miami, the name came naturally. Casa Mallorca.

A little piece of the Mediterranean, rooted in the middle of South Florida.

You feel that intention the moment you arrive. Stone walls. Natural arches. Light that moves through the space all day, shifting and softening as the hours pass. The design does not try to be a studio. It feels like a home, one that has been lived in and loved, built with every detail considered.

Inside, the aesthetic is warm and Mediterranean. A freestanding white soaking tub sits as a centerpiece, sculptural and still, the kind of piece that anchors a room without demanding attention. The indoor shower is framed by a full archway, the stonework and curves giving it the feeling of something European and unhurried. Natural textures throughout. Light that wraps rather than flattens.

Outside, the space opens into something equally considered. An outdoor shower nestled among cypress trees, birdsong, a warm Miami breeze filtering through. It is the kind of setting that makes you exhale. Private, lush, and completely its own world.

For a session built around intimacy and connection, it was the perfect backdrop. Mallorca is one of my favorite places I have ever visited, and there was something deeply special about feeling a piece of it here in South Florida. I cannot wait to return to this beautiful space and make even more beautiful memories with other families.
