Hey mama — first of all, congratulations. You are about to have one of the most beautiful, overwhelming, magical experiences of your life, and I am so honored you are trusting me to capture it.

I know how fast these early days go. One minute you are coming home from the hospital and the next you are wondering how your newborn already outgrew their first sleeper. That is exactly why we are here; to slow it all down, just for a few hours, and make sure you never forget a single moment of it.

Before your session, I want you to feel completely prepared and at ease. So grab a coffee, get cozy, and let me walk you through everything.

Preparing Your Home

Newborn sessions work best in homes with neutral tones and plenty of natural light, this is what creates my signature light and airy style. But if your home doesn't have the best natural light, don't worry at all! I always have studio options available so you never have to miss out on beautiful images no matter your space.

Tidy, don’t stress

You just had a baby. I am not expecting perfection. Just clear away the clutter in the spaces we will use most which are usually your bedroom, the nursery, and the living room. Think simple and calm, not staged and stiff. If you have one ready, straighten the crib, arrange a few meaningful details on the shelves, and clear the changing table and bedside tables. These little details become some of the most treasured images in your whole gallery, the ones your child will look at one day and say that was my room.

Warm it up

Have your temperature around 75–78°F before I arrive. A warm room keeps baby sleepy and settled, which makes for a smoother, more peaceful session for everyone.

Preparing Your Baby

As a former Mother Baby RN, your baby's comfort and safety are always my number one priority — before any shot list, before any setup, before anything else. Here is how to set your little one up for the most beautiful, peaceful session possible.

Feed right before

One of the most important things you can do to ensure a happy, sleepy baby ready for their session is to feed right before I arrive. A full, drowsy baby is everything — it sets the tone for the entire session and makes all the difference in the world. Feed on demand, don't try to time it around my arrival, and just let me know where you are in the feed cycle when I get there. I am always happy to wait.

Keep the morning calm

kip the errands, limit the visitors, and protect your morning. Babies feel everything, and a relaxed morning at home usually means a much more settled baby by the time we start.

Trust the process & your photographer!

Do not worry about the fussies! Every single newborn session has fussy moments. It is normal and it is okay! We will follow your baby's lead, take breaks whenever we need to, and never rush through a single moment. We have time. I promise.

Preparing Your Outfits

I'll be the first to say it, what you wear matters more than you might think!

Not because I'm judging, but because the right outfits pull your entire gallery together and keep the focus exactly where it belongs: on your faces, your connection, and that tiny new person you made. This is exactly why every single one of my newborn clients receives a personalized styling board with shoppable links — because the last thing I want you doing the night before your session is staring at your closet in a panic. I've got you completely covered. Whether you use it as inspiration or click straight through to shop, it's all right there waiting for you. Your family will look effortlessly beautiful in outfits that not only feel good but were chosen specifically to elevate your session and complement my editing style, which is exactly what you booked me for. Stress free. Styled. Ready to go!

Wear what feels like you

Mama, I see you. The postpartum season is one of the most beautiful and vulnerable times in a woman's life, and the last thing I want you to worry about is what you are wearing. Your body just did something incredible, and you deserve to feel confident, comfortable, and celebrated in front of my camera.

Wear something that fits your healing body well and makes you feel like yourself, because when you feel good, it shows in every single image! Soft, flowy dresses are an incredible option for postpartum mamas because they are flattering, comfortable, and photograph beautifully. You truly cannot go wrong with a soft neutral tone or a delicate soft pattern or texture. Think effortless, think comfortable, think you.

You do not need to look a certain way. You just need to show up — and I will take care of the rest.

For baby

I provide everything we need for your session from luxury wraps, soft swaddles, delicate headbands, to timeless minimal props. You’re also welcome to select a baby outfit from my curated newborn closet, featuring perfectly sized pieces in soft, neutral tones designed to complement parent styling beautifully.

For your little one, a simple onesie, cozy sleeper, or even just a diaper with a swaddle is all we need to begin. I recommend avoiding stiff fabrics or complicated snaps so baby can be changed with ease before the session.Soft, simple, and effortless is always the most beautiful choice.
